Liverpool FC Fan Day Shore Excursion

If you follow the Reds from the other side of the world, this is the day you've been waiting for. It was put together by Darren, a Kop season ticket holder for nearly 40 years, and it's packed with the stories you won't hear on the ship's coach.

Your local guide meets you at Liverpool Cruise Terminal and takes you straight to Anfield. On the official stadium tour you'll see the dressing room, walk down the tunnel past the famous This Is Anfield sign and stand on the Kop, named after a hill in South Africa where many local soldiers fell in the Boer War.

Outside, stand at the Shankly Gates, see the statues of Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, and pause at the Hillsborough memorial to remember the 97. Then walk the terraced streets around the ground, where giant murals of Reds legends are painted on the gable ends.

Here's one most fans don't know: Everton played at Anfield first. A row over the rent in 1892 sent Everton across Stanley Park to Goodison, and Liverpool FC was born to fill the empty ground.

Then we take you to a spot only locals know. From Everton Park, a short hop from Anfield, the whole city opens up below you: both cathedrals, the Liver Building, the river and, on a clear day, the Welsh hills. It's a breathtaking view of Liverpool from a local's point of view, and it makes for a cracking photo.

We also take in Melwood, where the great Liverpool teams trained for decades, and the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, today's home of the first team (both are external visits only).

There's a pay as you go lunch stop along the way, and you're back at the terminal at least an hour before all aboard. Born and bred in Liverpool, we live and breathe the Reds and we'd love to show you our club.

Not included: stadium tour tickets (£26 adults, £17 under 16s, added when you book) and food and drinks. Any lunch stop is pay as you go. A Professional Blue Badge guide can be added for £50 when you book.

A 20% deposit secures your tour and the balance is due 14 days before. We'll email you a secure link to pay it. Cancel more than 30 days before and we'll refund your deposit in full. Within 30 days the deposit is non-refundable, and from 14 days before the full amount is non-refundable. Booking within 14 days of your tour? You pay in full when you book. Bookings close 72 hours before the tour. If your ship doesn't make it into Liverpool, you get a full refund.

The stadium tour doesn't always run on match days, or when there's a concert or event at Anfield, and access around the ground can be restricted. Road closures or filming in the city can also mean a change of route. If that happens we'll let you know as early as we can and plan a great alternative, so you still get a proper Liverpool FC day and get back in good time for your ship.
